Be part of the event – Tuesday 5 October, starting 6pm BST

For over three years, stories of achievement, resilience and courage have been shared every week through the BBC LGBT Sport Podcast.

Each episode – created, hosted and produced by Jack Murley – provides a platform for athletes, coaches, officials, journalists and those in other sporting roles to discuss their careers and how being LGBTQ+ or a strong ally has impacted upon their journeys.

From the challenges of coming out to the satisfaction of performing to your personal best, the conversations are always enlightening and empowering.

Now the Podcast has hit the 200 milestone! To celebrate, an hour-long event is being held online – Tuesday 5 October (starts 6pm BST) with a line-up of famous names. We’re inviting you to join Jack, our celebrity guests, and our wider community by attending on the night and taking part in what’s sure to be an uplifting get-together.

The event is part of Sports Media LGBT+’s #AuthenticMe initiative, which seeks to spread the message of how being your authentic self can help to boost your performance. We’re again partnering with our friends at Pride Sports to bring this to you wherever you are in the world.

Athletes and sports personalities set to drop by include:

Hosting proceedings will be Jack, who has been a key figure in the success of our previous #AuthenticMe events at the BBC and Twitter UK.

As Sports Media LGBT+ continues to plan for another in-person gathering to be held later in the year, we wanted to show our support for the podcast as it reaches its double centenary of episodes.

Your downloads, subscribes, social posts and shares have been integral to the podcast’s success. Don’t miss your chance to connect with other listeners and with the storytellers themselves – just enter your name and email address here and you’ll be sent a link to the event being held on Tuesday evening.
